Anyone here has OCD? Did you tell anyone or were you afraid of social stigma ? How did your friends / family / partner / ex partner react to it? How are you dealing with it at the moment ? In my case I have obsessive thoughts and rituals but fortunately medication was effective and got them suppressed. Recently (January 2026) I returned to medication again but I spent the last five years without them and inshallah I will wean off the med (with supervision) soon.

The Things We Pretend Not to Need
Have you ever noticed...
The words we remember most are rarely the longest.
Sometimes they are just,
"I thought of you."
"Take your time."
"I am glad you are here."
It's true, isn't it?
We spend years convincing ourselves that we do not need encouragement.
Then someone offers a few sincere words...
and suddenly the day feels lighter.
Lately, I have been wondering...
Perhaps strength is not pretending we need no one.
Perhaps strength is knowing that Allah created us with hearts that can be lifted by kindness.
We praise grand gestures.
Yet it is often the smallest ones that stay.
A gentle word.
A patient ear.
A prayer made in someone's absence.
Maybe we pretend not to need them...
because admitting we do feels like weakness.
When, perhaps, it is simply part of being human.

This is because Allah never changes a favour which He has conferred upon a people until they change their own condition — and because Allah is Hearing, Knowing —Holy Quran 8:53 📖📿🤲🏾☕️

Perform your prayers. wear the perfume. get dressed up. romanticize your own life. chase your goals. learn something new. take care of your body. rest without guilt. laugh more. create beautiful memories. fall in love with your own company. make every ordinary day feel a little special.

what's something you've stopped chasing...
and became happier because of it?
I'll go first
Looking for love
The day I stopped chasing it, I made more room to fall in love with Allah, myself, and the life He is writing for me.

Dr Julie Smith | Psychologist on Instagram: "🤫 A little secret about your brain 🧠 Do all your relationships follow the same destructive pattern? So many of us find ourselves repeating the same painful relationship patterns, even when we desperately want something different. From a Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) perspective, we develop “relational patterns” early in life. They become the templates our brains use to predict what relationships should feel like, what to expect from other people, and how to respond in return. Whatever love looked like in childhood, that can be all we know. Familiarity creates a sense of certainty, even when it comes with emotional pain. So we can sometimes mistake it for compatibility. And the people who trigger your deepest wounds can also feel strangely compelling. Not because they’re right for you, but because they fit an old pattern. 👉 If you like my videos I think you’ll love my million-copy Sunday Times bestseller, ‘Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before?’ And my New York Times bestseller, ‘Open When.’ Find them at the link in my bio."
