Book 8: The Beginning of Guidance (Bidayat al-Hidayah) by Imam al-Ghazali رحمه الله

A man should not wait for life to force discipline into him.

He should choose guidance before regret teaches it painfully.

This book is about taqwa, worship, self-control, avoiding sins, and living with adab towards Allah ﷻ and people.

Before marriage, a man should learn how to govern his day, his tongue, his eyes, his habits, and his private life.

Because a serious man is not only disciplined outside.

He is disciplined when no one is watching.

I hope that the happy ending will be somewhere I will reach one day, and that my journey of chasing my dreams will end with achieving them, not regretting them, and that the final destination will be worth the effort of reaching it from the beginning.

There are books we read once.
There are books we return to.
And then there is the Qur'an.
The only Book that never grows old, no matter how many times it is opened.
The only Book that millions carry in their hearts, yet no heart can ever say, "I have reached the end of its wisdom."
A child begins with it.
A scholar spends a lifetime with it.
Both still have more to learn.
Perhaps that is one of its quiet miracles.
It never asks to be admired from a distance.
It simply waits to be opened.
Again.
And again.
And again.
Not because its words have changed...
But because every return is another chance to discover what we missed the last time.
Maybe that is why no heart ever truly outgrows the Qur'an.
It only grows deeper into it.

Book 7: Al-Adab al-Mufrad (Al-Adab al-Mufrad) by Imam al-Bukhari رحمه الله

A man’s character is not proven by how much he knows.

It is proven by how he treats people.

This book is about adab, mercy, parents, family, neighbours, speech, anger, kindness, and everyday manners.

Before marriage, a man should understand that Islam is not only worship in private.

It is also how he speaks when angry, how he behaves at home, and how gentle he is with those under his care.

Because marriage does not only test love.

It tests akhlaq.

i need a book written entirely from the villain’s point of view… except you don’t realize they’re the villain until the last few chapters.

Books Every Man Must and Should Read

Book 6: Dear Beloved Son (Ayyuhal Walad) by Imam al-Ghazali رحمه الله

A man should not only collect knowledge.

He should become changed by it.

This short book is advice from a scholar to a student about sincerity, time, worship, character, and turning knowledge into action.

Before marriage, a man should ask himself:

Do I only know what is right?

Or do I actually live by it?

Because a good husband is not made by words, image, or intention alone.

He is made by adab, responsibility, and fear of Allah ﷻ when no one is watching.
