​I wanted to share a genuine thought based on my recent experiences, with no intention to degrade anyone or generalise, just opening a heartfelt discussion.
​Lately, I’ve noticed a positive shift where many brothers are eager to follow the Sunnah, striving for a simple Nikkah and strictly avoiding practice like dowry. However, it often feels like the primary criteria from a bride’s side heavily revolves around a man being fully "well-settled" with a high-paying job.

​I completely understand where parents are coming from. Every parent wants financial security and comfort for their daughter, she is a gem to them, and that protective instinct is natural and valid.
​But wealth and status can be fluid; money comes and goes. What truly lasts and builds a home is a person's character, Akhlaq, fear of Allah, discipline, and willingness to work hard. A well-settled lifestyle means very little if the person lacks good habits or basic respect.

​Shouldn't we place equal—if not more—weight on a man's character and potential, rather than just his current bank balance?
​Would love to hear perspectives from both brothers and sisters on this. How do we strike the right balance between financial stability and good character? 💭
