I’ve just turned 53, and I’ve always considered myself someone who can hold a conversation with people from all walks of life. Well, at least, that’s what I thought! 😂
I can happily talk about a whole range of subjects, from films and music to history and politics. I enjoy a good conversation, learning new things and exchanging different perspectives.
However, I recently tried having a conversation with someone in their late 20s, and I have to admit, it was quite an experience! When you start discussing different topics and the other person hasn’t a clue what you’re talking about, you begin to question whether you’re actually on the same planet! 😂
I appreciate that we all have different interests and experiences, regardless of age, but it did make me realise just how important intellectual curiosity and the ability to hold a conversation are to me.
After all, you don't have to agree on everything, but surely being able to have an interesting conversation, exchange ideas and learn something from each other is part of what makes getting to know someone worthwhile?
