Surah Al Waqiah: When Every Status Falls Away!!

Okay, so let's start with something we all know deep down. The Day of Judgment? It's coming. No question about it. The real question is: what happens when it does??

Picture this. The earth shakes, hard. Mountains crumble into dust. The whole world as we know it, just completely transformed. Now think about where you are right now. Maybe you've got a good position because of your money, your education, your knowledge, your power, your social status. Well, on that Day? None of that decides your rank. What matters is your deeds!!! And your relationship with Allah. And that's exactly what Surah Al-Waqiah is about. It tells us people will be split into three groups. So let's go through them.

Group 1: As-Sabiqun, the ones who were always ahead
These are the people who were out in front when it came to faith and good deeds. And I mean always. They didn't just do good once in a while. They led the way in obeying Allah and chasing His pleasure. Allah says a lot of them will be from the earlier generations, and some from the later ones.

So what's their reward like? Honestly, it's honor and luxury like nothing we've ever seen. They'll be relaxing on beautiful gold couches, facing each other, just enjoying each other's company. They'll be served drinks in elegant cups by young attendants who never age. And these drinks? No headaches, no intoxication. There's no pointless talk, nothing sinful. Just peace and good words. They'll have whatever fruit they want, whatever bird meat they crave. And they'll have pure, specially created spouses, described as protected pearls. Precious. Beautiful. Honored. Just think about that for a second. No stress about money. No fear of losing your position. No competing for people's approval. No need to prove yourself to anybody. Just honor, peace, and blessings from Allah.

Group 2: Ashabul-Maymanah, the people of the right
Now, the second group. The people of the right.
They might not have been the very first in line, but they believed in Allah, and they did righteous deeds. Were they perfect? No. But they tried. They really did try to live in obedience to Him. And Allah gives them a beautiful reward too. Gardens with thick, spreading trees. Shade everywhere. Flowing water. Raised couches. And fruit, tons of it, without any of the limits and hassles we deal with here. And think about how things work in this world. A fruit looks amazing, and then you cut it open and it's rotten. Some fruits are only in season for a few weeks. Some are way too expensive. Some even make you sick. Everything here is limited, temporary, and a little bit flawed. But Paradise? It's beyond all of that.
And their companions are specially created, pure, and the same age as them. So this isn't just about having a nice place to live. It's a life where the blessings never run out. You're never exhausted. You never worry about losing what you have. And you never feel sad about what you don't have.

Group 3: Ashabul-Mashamah, the people of the left:

Okay, now the hard part. What about the people who turned away from Allah?Surah Al-Waqi'ah describes people who lived in luxury, kept doing serious wrong, and flat-out denied the Resurrection. They'd say, "How could we possibly come back to life after our bodies have decayed?"

But Allah tells them: stop and think. Think about your own creation. Did you create yourselves? Or did Allah? Because the One who created you the first time is absolutely able to bring you back. Even if Allah wanted to, he swt could have replaced you with another creation. And then He points to stuff we take for granted every single day. The crops you plant. Did you make them grow? Or did Allah? If He wanted, He could turn them into dry, broken stalks, and you'd be left with nothing but regret. The water you drink. Did you bring it down from the clouds? Or did Allah? If He wanted, He could make it salty, undrinkable. We depend on these things every single day. So how often do we actually stop and think about the One who gives them to us?And then Allah brings us to something nobody can escape. Death. When the soul reaches the throat, can anyone bring it back? Can all your wealth, your knowledge, your influence, your connections stop it? No. We have zero control over that moment. And yet, some people still deny the Hereafter, like this life is all there is.

So what's the consequence for those who are condemned? Scorching heat. Boiling water. The bitter tree of Zaqqūm. Punishment, in place of the comfort and blessings they ignored Allah for. It's sobering, right? The pleasures of this world are temporary. But how do we live? The consequences go way beyond this life.

And what about the Quran?Surah Al Waqiah also reminds us how honored and true the Qur'an is. Allah calls it a noble Quran, in a protected record. It's not something to treat carelessly, or brush aside like it has no authority over our lives. So here's a question to ask ourselves: what place does the Quran actually have in our lives?Do we read it? Do we reflect on it? Do we remember Allah through it, and try to live by what He tells us? Or do we set its guidance to the side while we pour all our energy into worldly success?Because believing in the Qur'an isn't just saying "yeah, it's true." It means taking Allah's guidance seriously, and trying to live by it.

So, which group are we preparing to be in?

Here's the thing. The status we have today won't last. Money can vanish. Knowledge can fade. Power can be taken away. Beauty fades. And eventually, every single one of us leaves this world. But the Day of Judgment is real. So let's not get so caught up chasing a luxurious life that we forget the One who gave us life in the first place. Read the Qur'an. Reflect on it. Remember Allah. Call on Him by His beautiful Names. Follow His commands, stay away from what He's forbidden, and keep striving to do good, even when nobody's watching. And when you mess up? Turn back to Him. Don't let your mistakes push you into giving up on His mercy. We can't guarantee we'll be among the foremost. But we can keep trying to get closer to Allah. Because when that Day comes, the titles we carry now will mean nothing if our deeds have nothing to back them up.
The world will change. The mountains will crumble. Everything we thought was permanent will be gone. But the Hereafter is real.

When I feel overwhelmed and exhausted, I like to read stories like Anne of Green Gables or The Travelling Cat Chronicles. Idk if it's the description of surrounding nature or.

Any similar recommendations??

I have seen dead bodies walking around me and I dreaded it, not just because that they were walking but because i saw a glimpse of me in them, forth which, I ran fast to my home and I turn myself against a mirror and saw a part of me had burnt but I couldn't see with my own hands, the horror kept me awake whole night however next day first thing in the morning i saw myself again in the mirror, but i was completely normal, thinking it was bad dream i walked out and few days later, this incident kept happening in a loop.

As the days went by, the area of burn kept increasing and I kept thinking what that means.....

I believe only a heart full of compassion can love forever. I want to look into your eyes and see pure love. My dream is simple: watching a winter sunset together, feeling the warmth of your love as you rest your head on my shoulder, making us forget the coldest winter days. Let's be each other's best friend and forever confidante."

There is real goodness in this world. It walks among us quiet, often unnoticed. But hear this, and hold it close:Goodness is not measured by the eyes that watch it. It is not weighed by the hands that clap for it. It is measured... by Allah alone.

Think of a fire built high on a hilltop bright, so that all the village may see the smoke rise. Beautiful, yes. Praised, yes. But if the heart that lit it sought only to be seen...the fire burns, and still... something is missing.

Now think of a small flame, lit in secret, deep in the trees where no one walks, where no eyes fall. No one claps for this fire. No one sings its name. But it was lit for the One who sees all things, even the things done in darkness. And that small flame...carries a weight the hilltop fire never could. This is the teaching!!A beautiful act, without sincerity, can become... an empty performance.A shape with no spirit inside it. But a small act, done purely for Allah, can carry immense value heavier than mountains, though it left no footprint at all.

So ask yourself, when you do good...Who am I doing this for?Is it for the applause that fades like footsteps in the snow?Or is it for the One whose gaze never leaves you, whose pleasure outlasts every winter?

True morality does not begin with the hands. It does not begin with the tongue. When the heart seeks Allah's pleasure above all else...that is where goodness is born.

So walk gently. Do your good in silence when you can. Let the fire you light be for Him who sees even what the world will never know. That is the goodness that lasts. That is the goodness that is weighed not in this life...but in the life to come. It begins in the heart , in that quiet chamber
where only you and your Creator can enter.
