I feel closest to peace when surrounded by nature.

I love mountains

To think Allah knew we would be in discomfort. So He made ducks, water, and bodies of oceans and lakes. He canvassed the skies so effortlessly. He put therein mountains and river valleys. Among them the beauty of volcanoes, he shifted the continents to make space for waters and islands. To think He said we need this for my slaves so they can dwell in sakinah as they navigate this earth. It puts me into awe. At how He knew what we needed when we didnt even exist until we did and needed that particular animal, water or beauty of the skies to elope from the madness of this duniya. O Allah, You amaze me. Thank You for everything.🥺🤧

I recently ran an outdoor session for Palestinian children. The nature play session encouraged exploration, creativity and development of outdoor skills. Some kids grew up here and others recently arrived from Gaza to receive medical care in Scotland.

Continuing on with birds, here is another beautiful creation of Allah's known as Grandala.

Here are some fun facts about these beautiful birds.

• The grandala (Grandala coelicolor) belongs to the thrush family, Turdidae.

• Grandalas are high-altitude birds found exclusively in and around the Himalayas and the Tibetan Plateau.

• Grandalas are true mountain specialists, breeding at elevations of up to 6,600 meters (around 21,600 feet) near the snow line.

• Males boast sapphire-blue plumage, while females feature camouflaged brown-and-grey streaked feathers.

• Instead of migrating south for the winter, they migrate vertically, moving from the freezing alpine peaks into the safety of lower valleys to find food.

• Grandalas are highly social birds that gather in enormous, restless flocks.

• They are famous for sudden, synchronized flights where they swirl upward into the sky like a giant wave of blue before moving upon a bare tree or rock face.
