Here is another unique and beautiful creation of Allah's known as Dusky Lory.

Here are some fun facts about this beautiful bird.

• The dusky lory is a species of parrot, which belongs to the family Psittaculidae

• It is found in New Guinea and the offshore islands of Batanta, Salawati and Yapen.

• It is commonly found along forest edges, in swamp forests, tall secondary growth forests, wooded savannas, coconut plantations, and even urban gardens.

• Instead of a regular tongue, they have specialized hair-like filaments on the tip called papillae.

• They are active travelers and can cover up to 50 km (about 31 miles) in a single day looking for food in tropical rainforests, savannas, and mangroves.

• In the wild, they travel in large flocks and are incredibly vocal. They are known to even hang out with other parrot species.

• Dusky Lory is an active, specialized nectarivore whose natural diet requires a daily base of high-quality liquid nectar. The rest of their diet should be heavily supplemented with soft, low-iron fruits, vegetables, and select blossom
