@dashofmsg
@muzz I think a selfie group is needed and some kind of command on your programming thingy that force posts with selfie to be directed to that group instead of any other group that the author intended to.

A little feedback on the new Jamaa moderator system shared respectfully and with good intention.
I actually think introducing moderators is a good step if the goal is to make Jamaa healthier, safer, and more organised.
However, I do have some concerns about the current structure.
Because most of the moderators are active users themselves, there is a potential conflict of interest. Active users naturally have their own friendships, disagreements, blocked accounts, personal preferences, and opinions within the community. Even if they try to be fair, perceived bias can still happen.
I also noticed that many of the selected moderators appear to be UK-based.
Jamaa is meant to be a global Muslim community, so I think regional representation matters too. Muslims in Indonesia, South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, North America, and other regions may all have different cultural contexts, communication styles, and community sensitivities.
Perhaps a stronger model would be:
Muzz/Jamaa staff as primary moderators, supported by carefully selected community moderators from different regions.
That could help create a better balance between neutrality, cultural representation, accountability, and community involvement.
Clear moderation guidelines, transparency, and an appeal process would also help reduce concerns about favoritism or inconsistent decisions.
Again, I think the idea itself is good. I just feel the selection and governance model may need a little more thought if Jamaa truly wants to represent Muslims globally.
Shared as constructive feedback, not criticism of any individual moderator. 🤍

Salaam @shaz what is done about malicious and fraudulent catfishes? Could more be done potentially?
@noname_
How do I block muzz from sending me beggy messages to subscribe and silly little haraam group freemixing events?
Is there an account I can block?
@SherlockHolmes
I send compliments somewhat frequently and I find it hard to keep track of what compliments have been rejected and what compliments are still pending. I think either of these suggestions would be a good way to fix it.
I don't think anyone actually follows this group, but here's a filter idea that could significantly cut down the endless searching.
Why not add a filter based on “I meet their preferred criteria”—such as age, ethnicity, location, etc.?
As a Gold subscriber, I’ve started seeing which profiles are more likely to match with me based on how well I fit their preferred criteria. However, the list is still very long, and I’d much rather have the ability to filter those profiles further.
For example, if I could filter to only see profiles where I meet their preferred age, ethnicity, and other criteria, it would make the search much more efficient.
