🦽 GOING FOR UMRAH WITH SOMEONE USING A WHEELCHAIR?

SAVE THIS BEFORE YOU GO.

If you're going for Umrah with your parent, family member or someone using a wheelchair, these are some things I think are really useful to know before you enter the Haram.

1. First, choose the right gate.
   There are several wheelchair-friendly gates with ramps: 68, 74, 79, 84, 89, 90, 93 and 94.

2. For Tawaf, know which route to take.
   The Ajyad route leads to the first floor of the Mataf. There is also an accessible route through the Shubaikah area near Gate 64.

3. If you need a wheelchair, know where to get one.
   Some listed locations are the first floor of Mas'a via Al-Arqam Stairway (Gate 16), Ajyad near Al-Safa Palace, and Shubaikah Bridge near Gate 64.

4. If you prefer an electric cart, there are specific pickup points.
   You can find them at Ajyad Bridge near Gate 3, Al-Mizan near King Abdulaziz Gate, and Shubaikah Bridge.

5. How much does the electric cart cost?

Tawaf — SAR 100
Sa'i — SAR 100
Complete Umrah — SAR 200

For persons with disabilities, the official information states that the electric-cart service is free.

Prices are based on the current official information and may change or be updated. Please check the latest price before booking.

6. You can also book the service through Tanaqol.
   So you don't necessarily have to arrive and then start looking around for a cart.

7. For Sa'i, there is also a wheelchair route.
   The route through the eastern courtyards towards Marwah is one of the designated accessible routes.

If you're bringing someone for Umrah in a wheelchair, save these details before you go. Knowing the gates, routes and pickup points beforehand can save you a lot of walking around trying to figure things out when you arrive.

A little planning can make the journey much easier for the person you're bringing with you.
