If you are a poet and you didn't even know it

If you asked me about losing my mum, I'd say I miss her so much.
But if you were to ask me on a deeper level...... I'd say I feel like a different person.
How there was a before her death me and now there's an after her death me.
I'd say how my whole world flipped upside down and I've been walking through life with a constant ache.
How the smallest things can tug me back into that dark pit.
I'd say how I'm so afraid I'll forget the sound of her voice.
And how tired I am wearing this mask of happiness to not make others uncomfortable.
I'd say I'm not ok and I don't know if I'll ever fully be.

Someone Asked Me, Why Are You Like This?
I placed my pulse, still trembling, in your hand
I cannot make you understand.
I sifted every ruin, grain by grain, like sand
I cannot make you understand.
I am not silent; silence is the only tongue my sorrow knows,
Each word I speak collapses before it learns to stand
I cannot make you understand.
They see the smile I wear and call the house within me whole,
They never hear the funerals crossing through this land
I cannot make you understand.
There is a version of me still waiting where the light once was,
Holding an unanswered prayer exactly as it had planned
I cannot make you understand.
They ask me when it started, where the first wound can be found,
As though grief knocks politely, with its reasons close at hand
I cannot make you understand.
Some nights I feel like someone else is breathing through my chest,
A guest inside my body, in a life I never planned
I cannot make you understand.
I smile so no one has to carry what I carry home,
Then break where even mirrors are too frightened to stand
I cannot make you understand.
The cruelest pain is not that no one came to save me from the dark,
It is that someone came, looked closely, and still failed to understand
I cannot make you understand.
So ask me once again what all this silence means, my friend,
I will open my mouth, then close it, with my heart still in my hand
I cannot make you understand.

Do you want to know what the worst is?
It’s not the one that explodes.
It’s not the one that ends with screaming, hard arguments, or betrayal.
It’s the one that slowly fades away.
No cheating. No lies. No dramatic goodbye.
Just one person who slowly stops making an effort, while the other grows tired of waiting for that effort to return.
The messages become shorter.
The silence becomes longer.
One person stops sharing their day because it starts to feel like a waste of energy.
The other stops asking, “How are you?” because they already know the answer will always be, “I’m fine” or “Good.”
You’re still together, but emotionally, you’re no longer there.
The hardest part?
Sometimes the one who has already leave doesn’t leave. They simply wait for the other person to walk away, so they won’t have to be the one to make excuses or end it.
But here’s what you need to remember:
We all deserve someone who chooses us loudly, consistently, and wholeheartedly, not someone who quietly lets us fade away.
Let Go! Let Allah do what He needs to do
