Not everyone who selects Tasawwuf on the faith section of their marriage profile is Sunni 🙃
How has one selected Tasawwuf and Sunni while denying superiority of Shaykhayn? 🥴🥴🥴

I just wanted to ask for opinions and experience. I am someone who’s been on the spiritual path for 15-16 years alhamdulillah. I am now going to be 31 and I am struggling to find someone who’s also on a spiritual path or someone who’s open to learning it and following a similar lifestyle. Idk how to say this but islam without Sufism is empty - it’s all appearances. Pls don’t come at me for this - im just tryna explain my pov. I don’t want to come across cult like? This isn’t me trying to get someone to follow my teachers but more for them to understand what my core beliefs are. Any advice or recommendations? JazakAllah Khair and pls forgive me for my shortcomings

About the Jinn;

The Jinn are creatures that are created from fire. That does not mean that they ARE fire, but that they are created from it, like humans are created from soil, but they are not soil.

The jinn are usually invisible to us, but they can take shapes. It might appear as a shadow or a light or an animal, or even a human, but if it comes as a human, it would have a defect, such as diagonal eye slits instead of horizontal, or like backwards feet.

They are like humans in many ways; they have minds, they speak languages, they get married, they have children- except that unlike humans they lay eggs and are born with mental discrimination. They also have different religions, and some are Muslims, and some are even good Muslims, but those are rare. They are supposed to be Muslims like the humans. Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم was sent to the humans and Jinn, not just the humans.

Some can fly, and those are dangerous. Some can cover great distances swiftly. Most are mischievous, evil, and mendacious liars. Sometimes they enter a persons body and this is a big sin for a Jinn if he does that. Sometimes they take the person's body over and speak with his tongue. Some are very strong and they rape or kill. They also sometimes hold a person down while the person tries to sleep. Every person has a jinn that follows him and whispers to him.

Among the easiest people for the jinn to fool are those who deny their existence. Some live in houses and haunt people.

The first of them was a Jinn named عAzâzîl. he was created before Adam, and he was a Muslim, but then he blasphemed. He is the accursed Chaytan (Satan) who was renamed 'Iblîs'. Because the bible has been perverted so severely, the Christians think that he used to be an Angel. They do not know the reality of the jinn.

Some people worship the jinn, and some people seek their help, like magicians and witches. There are things that a person can do to protect himself from them. Among those are

• -Reciting TaHSîn (recommended verses of Qur’ân)
• -Dhikr( mentioning specified praises of Allâh), and
• -Duعâ (supplications)) that was taught by the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم.

Know that some of the Jinn would listen to what the Angels who are in charge of rain say. Those Jinn would ascend to a place close-by, where the Angels speak amongst each other about some of the events that will unfold on earth this year, such as, who is going to die or who will be born, who will rise as leader, who will no longer lead, and other similar matters which Allâh, the Exalted, Has brought to their knowledge.

Allaâh may inform His angels, messengers, and righteous Muslims about a portion of the unforeseen, but not about all the unforeseen.

Those Jinn then descend back to earth and deliver what they have heard to those who they have befriended amongst humans.

So be warned against those people who claim that they have the ability to call the souls, when in fact they deal with the Jinn. The souls of the pious believers do not like to come back to this world even if they were to be given this whole world and what is in it.

Moreover, the souls of the blasphemers are under the control of the angels of torture, and the angels will not allow these evil people to take the souls of the blasphemers from them.

Hence, those who attend such places are not the souls of people, rather, they are the Jinn who knew about this particular person’s situation and lived with him. It could be either his qarin, i.e. the Jinn who accompanied this person for the entire of his life or another one of the Jinn who knows about one’s situation, however, they lie and say, “I am the soul of such and such.” We ask Allâh, the Exalted, to protect us from such an evil.

The majority of those who claim that they can contact the souls are in fact dealing with the Jinn. But they do not tell the people that they are dealing with the Jinn as then the people will not believe them. Deceivingly, they claim that they are contacting the souls so that some people would go to them.

At the beginning of some cases, as the Jinn is claiming to be the soul, the Jinn will show signs as if it is following the Rules of the Religion, then, will start with matters which are against the Rules of the Religion.

In the end, we ask Allsâh to protect us from those imposters and their malicious acts and make us among those who rely on Allaâh in all matters. Ameen.

KARAMAH OF IMAM AN-NAWAWIYY

Imam An-Nawawiyy (631-676H) was a waliyy and a great scholar who authored many works, including the famous book: "The Forty Nawawiyy Hadiths".

Allah illuminated Imam An-Nawawiyy's finger for him at night when the lantern was out of oil so that he could see and continue writing about the Religion.

This was a karamah for Imam An-Nawawiyy.

A beloved shaikh during a sohbat yesterday night said You don't exist. We don't exist.

I find it baffling when people claim to study Sufism, yet their understanding mirrors that of Orthodox Christians, Hindus, or Buddhists.

And I am convinced this is because they like to cherry-pick Quranic verses to suit their own whims.
