Before venturing into civil service , I used to instruct English language and literature at college and university level for a brief . I loved it but couldn't continue for two reasons . 1. That I found the tragedy of teaching same syabbus over and over for the next 39 years seemed like a circular tragedy 2. Going through the written documents specially The papers filled with "text-speak," agonizing typos, and fragmented sentences that read like a broken telegram, the diction , the syntax and the structure coupled with outrageous spellings ruled roost. It was mundane and exhausting .
The otherday I came across some bios that really inspired me . There was a sudden wave of flawless, poetic, and highly articulated bios. It felt like an alternate reality.
However , this reveriey soon fizzled out when I happen to exchange pleasantries with some of them conclusive , the latest democratization of generative AI has given everyone a personal Patas or Zia Mohiuudin at the doorsteps.. People who used to struggle with sentence structure or vocabulary can now type: "Make me sound funny, sophisticated, and outdoorsy for a dating app," and get back a flawlessly polished bio in three seconds.i recollect what a poet once said ,

"Baat ju Dil se nikalti hai asar rakhti hai
Per nahi Taqat e parwaaz magar rakhti hai"

But what to do with this this drowning of a Valid voice. This takes me back to the lines from Macbeth

Bios start to lose their human texture. The quirky mistakes, the unique slang, and the individual cadence of a real person get flattened into a standardized, glossy perfection. It’s the linguistic equivalent of an Instagram filter—it looks great at a glance, but it isn't entirely real.

What’s the point of joining this app when you won’t even write your own bio? I am not trying to be abrasive, but I believe that a bio is the least amount of effort you can put into this venture. How hard can it be? Describe yourself (education, profession, life goals) , your needs and wants from a married life, what you would expect from your future spouse, along with other things that matter to you (caste, family background etc.) Personally a profile with no bio just shows me that this person is not willing to be an active part of the relationship and would not do well when initiative needs to be taken.
