I wanted to know if any of you have heard of PFida and/or used their services.

If you have, what are your thoughts and views on them?

I'm looking to buy a property, but have recently heard some negatives about them, mainly in the PFida subreddit.

Alternatively, I've been looking at Offa which is somewhat similar.

I'm not here asking about your opinions on whether they're halal or Haraam.

I do believe mortgages are Haraam, but I also believe PFida are actually halal.

Is anyone free to talk while I vent please?

When people put “strictly practising religion” in their marriage bio, what does that actually mean to you?

I’m asking both brothers and sisters because everyone seems to understand it differently.

For me as a brother, I don’t see “strictly practising” as just saying you’re Muslim. I mean someone who is genuinely trying to follow the Qur’an and Sunnah in their life, not just by name.

To me it means things like

No music
No free mixing
Not living in haram
No boyfriend or girlfriend lifestyle
Guarding your modesty and conduct
Taking salah, deen and obedience to Allah seriously
Wanting a marriage built on Islam, not culture or vibes

For me there is also a difference between being Muslim and being a true believer who is trying to live by Islam properly. We are Muslim, but not everyone is living like a believer should.

So I want to ask both brothers and sisters

When you write “strictly practising” in your bio, what are you actually trying to say by it

What does it include for you
What are your non negotiables
And what would make you think someone is practising in a serious way rather than just using the label
