Here is a page from our family tree! It lists the first names of our grandfathers, tracking our paternal line all the way back to the Prophet’s family through Ja'far ibn Abi Talib.
A lot of people ask me: "If this list of names goes back to Arabia, how are we Amazigh by blood?"
It is because of how families blended over time:
The History: Centuries ago, an ancestor from this line moved to North Africa.
The Blending: For over a thousand years, our grandfathers married Amazigh women, and our grandmothers married Amazigh men.
The Result: Because every generation mixed completely with the native population, our DNA and our blood became overwhelmingly Amazigh.
Even though the book just shows a chain of Arabic first names to track our history, our family fully became part of the land. Our culture, our identity, and our blood are deeply Amazigh! ⵣ
However I Personally always deny my Arabic Heritage and ancestory, and Very much Proud Of Being amazigh, Born and raised with amazigh Values.
