Here’s to the girl I found on a matrimonial app ... where I was technically supposed to find my husband 😂❤️ but Allah swt clearly had other plans & I'm so glad he did because imagine Him swt putting down two girls of the same age on this Earth, having the same purpose, having family in the same city & same area, working away from home but in the same city as each other & also living in the same area in that city & then deciding to move back home at the same time. I meannnn what we're the odds??? ☺️😇

Just when my family was cribbing that I have enough girl friends & I need to shift focus & start talking to guys for marriage, Allah swt decided to add more girlie pops through a matrimonial app & who am I to complain? 🫠🥳

Instead of a groom, I ended up with a friend who has become one of my favourite-est people, with whom I can't go without talking to even a single day (AGAR KISI NE NAZAR LAGAYIIIIIIIII 😤😭🌚) ... someone who brings laughter, wisdom, unsolicited reality checks & ekdum faaaltuuu ka elder sister syndrome jiska mere upar toh koi asar nahi hota hai 🙄 but also the kind of conversations that make life richer, alhumdolillah ☺️💖✨

Here's to you, ‘Selene’ ... your beautiful heart, your endless sparkle & all the happiness you deserve. I’m going to tell you my personal experience with Istikhara.

Last year, I was set up with my distant relative, who my parents had picked for me. Everything was done, but something felt unsettling, and I thought of praying Istikhara to know if this was the right person for me or not.

A few hours after praying Istikhara, I was scrolling through Instagram, and I stumbled upon this girl’s reel. Her hair really fascinated me, so I started going through her account. Then, in one of her reels, I saw him sitting in the background. I literally lost my mind. I was like, “What the hell? What is he doing here?” Then I went through this girl’s profile like crazy. I saw one highlight of their recent vacation together, and they stayed in one room. It was pretty obvious that they were in a relationship.

This was the guy I was supposed to get married to, and everything was already done. I was so close to getting married. We weren’t even in the talking stage. Our parents were deciding the dates.

I completely lost it.

I showed it to my mom, and during this period, I was also having a lot of dreams that he was with a girl. That also pushed me to pray Istikhara.

Anyways, I straight up asked him, “do you know this girl?” And he said no. THE AUDACITY to lie to my face. That made me completely withdraw myself from the situation because I wasn’t emotionally attached to this person either. There was no way I could consider him as a husband after that.

This is the very reason why you should pray Istikhara before making decisions. Sure, it may not go the way you want it to, but it will save you big time.

Qn: If u have to choose between Nasi lemak & mee rebus for breakfast everyday for the rest of your life, which one will it be?
