Selam aleykum brothers and sisters,

What I’ve noticed on Jamaa, a dating app, is that some people are very focused on visibility and building a large audience, while in the end it’s supposed to be a place where you get to know someone in an honest and genuine way. When I look at profiles with a lot of followers and reactions, it sometimes feels like a kind of Pokémon collection of followers, where it’s more about numbers than real connections. Instead of focusing on that, it would be better to focus on being followed for who you really are, because you give advice, help others, or simply share something meaningful.

At the same time, I also see people sharing a lot about themselves or their opinions, but it sometimes feels like it’s more about attention and validation than real connection. For me, the most important thing is being honest and genuine in how you interact with others. That’s different from putting people down or criticizing without any real purpose.

It’s also not meant to put down Muslim brothers and sisters. Differences of opinion are normal, that’s part of life. But I do notice that some people can be quite superficial when it comes to others with different backgrounds, while in reality it shouldn’t matter. We are all Muslims, and respect towards each other should come first. Appearance doesn’t really say much; what truly matters is your character and your upbringing. SubhanAllah, we have all been created in a beautiful way.

I wish everyone the best, but these are things I sometimes see and read on Jamaa.
