It’s sad that we live in a time where there’s room for acceptance and forgiveness in people’s eyes for having committed zina, regardless of how many partners. But there’s no acceptance for a broken nikkah.
Divorced men and women are still treated with the same stigma as from the time of jahiliyah before Islam came to correct the minds and hearts of people. We just apply misconceptions and misgivings based on stereotypes and societal assumptions now instead of saying “they bring curses and bad luck!” People forget that horrible things can happen to anyone. Actions have consequences and sometimes people bear the burden of consequences of someone else’s actions.
There’s no need to assassinate someone’s character just cause that status applies to them. If you don’t like someone that’s divorced, cool, move on with your day. Don’t go out of your way to point that person out to others and share your baseless opinions about that person.
