I honestly don't know how some people can play with other people's emotions so easily.

I met a guy through Shaadi.com. His parents came to our home and spoke as if they were very serious about the proposal. They kept mentioning that their son earns ₹1 lakh per month, almost as if they were trying to impress us. They also told us they currently live in a rented house but were planning to move into a bigger one.

During the conversation, they asked about my salary, and we answered honestly. My parents welcomed them with respect and sincerity, believing they were genuinely interested.

A few days later, the guy started ignoring my messages. After keeping me waiting, he told me he was going to meet two more girls and would decide afterward whom he wanted to marry.

I understand that people can meet multiple prospects in the arranged marriage process. But if you're still exploring your options, why involve families so seriously and raise their hopes?

What hurts me the most is not that he wanted to meet other people. It's that my parents started believing this proposal might actually work because of how confidently his family spoke. Seeing their hopes fade has been far more painful than the rejection itself.

Sometimes I wonder if people realize that behind every proposal is a family with real emotions not just another option to compare. 💔

One of my favourite quotes, I use it as motivation for having lofty aspirations and striving towards them :)

May Allah bless us with exceptional marriages!

The right spouse won’t just make you smile—they’ll remind you to pray, encourage you to become a better Muslim, and help you stay on the path to Jannah🤍

This is what I've found out, a month and a half after being on this app: the sisters I like don't like me back, and the sisters I don't like end up liking me. Nothing new here, and I'm sure many others are experiencing this too. When I say 'I don't like,' I mean sisters outside Canada (most of them are even young, attractive, hijabi, etc., but I'm looking in Canada for now), and sisters in Canada with different life stages than what I'm looking for (divorced, with children, late 30s and above, etc.). It seems like young sisters in Canada are in very high demand, and the solution would be to go abroad and sponsor my life partner.
