In the early ’90s, a young man falls hopelessly in love with a woman. They plan a future together. They even talk about names for their children.

But life happens.

His family wants him to marry within their tribe. Her parents refuse to bless the union because he isn’t financially stable. They fight for the relationship, but eventually reality wins. They go their separate ways.

Heartbroken, she marries another man.

Thirty years pass.

She’s now a grandmother. He’s in his 50s.

One afternoon, he attends a family event and sees a young woman across the room. She has the same smile. The same eyes. The same laugh that once made him believe in forever.

It’s her daughter.

They start talking. He asks for her number. They begin dating. Months later, he tells her he wants to marry her. Eventually he realizes that this is the daughter of the woman he had once loved and never forgotten.

The daughter thinks she’s found the love of her life.
