About 3 months ago, I taught myself how to skate on a rollerblades. How it’s going so far.

Would you go midnight skating with your spouse, if they ask, after the kids are asleep?

Sunday funday to end the weekend. Some endurance training (pull ups/dips/push ups)

I have this lingering pain in my ring finger and right wrist that’s been annoying me for 3 weeks now.. I pushed through it but sort of ended the session with more left in my tank but I’d rather not make it worse.

Did you put in some pain this weekend?

Lads who went from overweight to lean and muscular, what’s the secret? I need some serious gym advice 😂💪

About two years ago, I weighed 120kg at just 5’7” (170cm). I managed to drop all the way down to 80kg through dieting and going to the gym. That’s 40kg lost, which I’m still proud of.

But here’s the problem. Even at 80kg, I never achieved the physique I actually wanted. I felt like I’d just become skinny fat. I’d lost loads of weight, but I still had a little belly and those stubborn love handles that absolutely drive me insane.

I was going to the gym regularly, but looking back, I think I was doing things completely wrong. Most of my workouts consisted of cardio, particularly cycling and rowing. I genuinely thought the resistance involved in those exercises would help me build muscle while burning fat.

I did lift weights, but mainly chest exercises, alongside doing push-ups every day until failure. My chest and arms started looking decent, but there was never that proper muscular definition or anything really popping out. I wasn’t following a proper full-body strength training programme.

Fast-forward to today, and unfortunately, I’ve climbed back up to 105kg. I’m in my mid-20s now, and I genuinely want to give this another proper go and get into the best shape of my life.

My goal isn’t just to lose weight. I want to lose body fat while building muscle, so I actually look lean, muscular and well-defined. I don’t want to lose another 30–40kg just to end up looking skinny fat again.

But my biggest struggle has always been food.

Last time, I tried one of those miserable diets where I was eating practically nothing but chicken, eggs, tuna, a few vegetables and drinking water. Hardly any seasoning, hardly any variety. Honestly, after a while, the thought of eating the same meals made me feel physically sick. I couldn’t sustain it.

And currently, my eating habits are the complete opposite. I eat a lot of carbs, large portions and sometimes eat until I’m so full and bloated that I physically couldn’t manage another bite.

So how do you actually lose body fat without spending every day feeling hungry and miserable? How do you retrain your appetite when you’re used to eating enormous portions? And how do you manage cravings without eventually giving up and bingeing?

I’m particularly interested in hearing from lads who’ve been in my position and successfully transformed their bodies.

Did you focus on weightlifting rather than cardio? How much protein were you eating? Did you follow a calorie deficit while building muscle? And how did you manage to enjoy your food while still losing fat?

I also wonder whether I was wrong to think losing another 5–10kg at 80kg would’ve automatically given me visible abs and eliminated my love handles. Maybe the problem wasn’t just my weight but that I hadn’t built enough muscle underneath?

I don’t want another temporary weight-loss journey. I want a complete lifestyle change that I can actually maintain for years.

So lads, especially those who’ve gone from overweight to genuinely lean and muscular, what would you do if you were starting again at 105kg and 170cm?

Give me your best advice, workout routines, nutrition tips and even your biggest mistakes. I’m all ears. 😂

Blessing never go to the wrong address.
Even the piece of fruit you’re eating today was meant to be yours from the moment the seed was planted. It was picked through a long journey, sold by a trader and then arrived in your hands.

So remember, what’s yours will find its way to you always.
