We are often more willing to believe our sins are too great to forgive than we are to believe in the greatness of Allah's forgiveness. Don't use your past as proof that you cannot change.
Use it as a reason to make sincere tawbah.

Random Vent Does anyone else feel some type of way when people don't start a conversation with 'Salaam' - why is this not normalised on a MUSLIM app?

Salam sisters,
This post will hurt your double standard 😂

Those who seek perfection will never truly find it, because perfection isn’t something you can buy—it’s something you have to create, work for, and earn.

And please, don’t pretend or practice double standards. Women know the rights Islam has given them, but when it comes to the responsibilities Islam places upon them within a marriage—such as respecting and cooperating with their husband—they sometimes choose to overlook those teachings.

You cannot demand the rights Islam gives you while ignoring the responsibilities and duties that come with them. Islam speaks about both rights and responsibilities, and they should be approached with the same sincerity and commitment.

Salam everyone,

Just wanted to get some perspective from both women and men. I’m 24 and have stayed away from dating until I was ready for marriage, which I now am. I started speaking to a brother, 29, about 3.5 weeks ago and we live around 3 hours away from one another but we have not seen each other. We speak daily and we often face time which is lovely but I think in person chemistry is more important. We have both showed interest in seeing one another soon and I made it be known that I think more than a month is stretching it.

My sister and her kids lives in the same city as him and I try to visit as often as I can usually every 6 weeks ish. I told him I’ll be there in a few weeks (last week of September most likely) although I haven’t planned the exact dates. He mentioned that its better for me to travel to his city as it’s easier because I’ll get to see my sister and also see him while I’m there. He wants me to fit him in during my stay with family which is usually only 2-3 days, and also around his own schedule. We both work full time but are usually free during the weekends. I’m a little unexperienced but even so, it feels so low effort and it feels like us meeting will be an after thought. He knows that I sold my car a couple months ago which makes travelling to and from his city a bit more difficult. He on the other hand drives.

I really do not mind making the journey more often to see him, but he shows such a lack of willingness to come and see me in my city which makes me rethink the whole connection. He’s ok with waiting longer for me to come which will likely take us to around 5.5 weeks of speaking. At the same time hes been quite pushy by asking me to come this weekend or sooner than the last week of sept, which is extremely confusing as he wants to see me asap but wants me to be the one to come even though I told him it’ll have to be in a couple of weeks due to work obligations. He told me he really likes me and is serious about marriage which I don’t doubt, but I can’t help but feel unimportant.

I’ve tried to subtly bring it up, without being too unreasonable with my request but his response made it clear that he was concerned mostly about his own convenience.

I’d like to hear if any of you had any input or advice on how I should approach this. Jazakallah Khayr.
