Love a punch in the face? Into UFC? Or maybe Jiu Jitsu. You're in the right place
So my son recently found Power Slap while using my YouTube account. He absolutely loves it and right off the bat I knew it was the sport for him. I've never seen him put his energy into anything like this. It is really amazing to see him blossom like this. He is eager to compete, so eager that he is often slapping his 8 month old brother, which I get because he doesn't flinch and it is good to practice his distance and form but his mother gets really upset.
I tried looking for Power Slap gyms in the area with a youth program but surprisingly I haven't found anything. Sacramento isn't the biggest city so I guess we are just a bit slow here. But it's crazy because I wrestled as a kid and finding youth programs and tournaments were super easy. I am thinking their surely has to be something similar for children's slapping? We considered having him inviting kids from his kindergarten class over and hosting our own tournaments but all the tables I own are too big for a child of that size to reach over.
So my question to you guys is if I cannot find a slap gym with a kids program, is there any real substitute? I considered boxing but I feel like learning to move your head away from the strikes may hurt his slapping career in the long run. He is pretty serious about doing this for a living and I want to be able to support him however I can.
I really love boxing, except I don't have the money to train.
