Alif alast suniaa dil mere, Jind balaa kookendee hoo Hubb watan dee haalib hoee, Hik pal saun na dendee hoo Qaihar pave is raazan duneeaa, Haq daa raah marendee hoo Aashiq mool qabool na Bahu, Zaaro zaar ruvendee hoo
*لمَّا سمعتُ نداءَ "ألستُ بربِّكم" في أزَلِ الأرواح،
أجابت روحي: "بلى"، فاهتزَّ قلبي بذلك العهدِ القديم.
ومنذ ذلك اليوم استبدَّ بي الحنينُ إلى الوطنِ الأوَّل،
فما ترك لي الشوقُ إلى حضرةِ الحبيبِ لحظةَ سكونٍ أو راحة.
فيا قسوةَ هذا العالمِ الذي يقطعُ السالكين عن طريقِ الحقِّ،
ويشغلُ القلوبَ بالفاني عن الباقي.
وما لقيَ عشَّاقُ اللهِ فيه إلا الغربةَ والإنكارَ والابتلاء؛
يبكون شوقًا وألمًا، ودموعُهم شهادةُ وفائهم للعهدِ الأوَّل.*
When I heard the Eternal Question—"Am I not your Lord?"—resounding from the dawn before time,
my soul answered, "Yes, indeed!" and my heart was forever marked by that remembrance.
From that moment, the homesickness of the spirit seized me;
the yearning to return to the Beloved's Presence left me no peace upon the earth.
May this heedless world be stripped of its enchantment,
for it ambushes wayfarers and distracts them from the road that leads to the Real.
The lovers of God are seldom welcomed among the people of the world, O Bahu;
they wander as strangers, weeping for the lost vision of the Beloved,
their tears flowing in fidelity to the Covenant of Alast.
This version emphasizes the Qur'anic allusion to the Primordial Covenant (ميثاق ألست) — "Am I not your Lord?" (Qur'an 7:172)
السلام علیکم میں اس ایپ پہ نیو ہوں میرے ایک دوست کی شادی اسی ایپ کے ذریعے ہوئی ہے میں اج ایپ وزٹ کر رہا تھا تو کچھ کمنٹس ائے ہوئے تھے کہ لوگ اتے ہیں تصویریں دیکھتے ہیں اور جسٹ ٹائم پاس کرتے ہیں ہوں گے لوگ کچھ ایسے بھی لیکن جیسا کہ میں نے اگے بتایا میرے ایک دوست کی شادی جس نے مجھے بھی اس ایپ کے بارے میں بتایا اس کی شادی اسی ایپ کے ذریعے ہوئی ہے وہ ایک خوشحال زندگی گزار رہا ہے اللہ تعالی سب بہن بیٹیوں کے نصیب اچھے کرے امین یا رب العالمین
