Why is it so difficult for people to take accountability?

Some of us think words are cheap if not backed up and matched with actions. Even though, big promises may need for us to take big risks to achieve our goals and fulfil these promises.

Quick controversial thing:
Some Muslim scholars say that our "Hearts" are the tools of thinking and making decisions aka=mind, that is based on Quran versus interpretation.
According to neuroscience that isn't the case, as the brain is where the mind is.
In such contradictions some people may lean to religion and others to science some may be insisted that both can go hand in hand in a twisted way, others may not even care.
What I find super "human" is that we may point to the heart for "emotions" such as love, or memory such as the place of a dead mother, or even say I just know this is the right thing to do by all my heart, but the second a religious opinion is issued against science, then fight mood is on, HUMANS.
