Can we all agree that finding someone who is emotionally mature, communicates honestly, and is genuinely serious about marriage feels rarer than finding the perfect profile? 😅

Everyone says they want something real, but consistency, effort, and respect seem to disappear after a few conversations.

What's the biggest green flag or red flag you've experienced on Muzz?

I'm curious to hear everyone's stories. 👀

What’s something you wish people asked you more when getting to know you? And what’s one question you’re tired of answering?👀

One question...
Do you think people are born good, or does life make them who they are?
No judging just curious to hear your opinion.

👇 What's your answer?

Salaam, I’m 27. I graduated at 25, so I already feel like I’m playing catch up. The pressure isn’t coming from my family, it’s coming from me. Most of my friends are married, and I’m still trying to find someone who simply knows how to communicate.

I’ve been ghosted for the third time in less than a month.

Maybe I’m old fashioned, but I believe in a proper goodbye. It takes less than a minute to say, “Thank you for letting me get to know you, but I don’t think we’re the right match.” If you have the courage, kindly tell the other person what made you feel it wouldn’t work. Even if you’ve only spoken for a week, closure is a form of respect. Most people on marriage apps aren’t looking for flings, they’re looking for clarity.

What confuses me about modern dating is that it feels like I’m expected to play games. Reply slowly. Act hard to get. Be less available. Apparently that’s called “self respect.”

But what if I’m just… genuinely kind?

I reply because I want to. I make people feel comfortable because I want to know the real them. I don’t act snobbish because I’d rather we talk like two friends and see if we actually connect. I’ve tried to understand the whole “play hard to get” thing, but I can’t do it. It feels exhausting, performative, and completely unnatural.

Somewhere along the way, being warm became “too available,” and being emotionally unavailable became attractive.

Everyone says, “Act like a queen. Be the prize. Make him chase you. If he isn’t chasing, he isn’t interested.”

Maybe there’s some truth to it. Maybe people do become more intrigued by those who seem less invested.

But I’m tired.

I miss the kind of love people used to talk about in the ’90s, where you could be open, sincere, and interested without worrying that showing effort would make you seem less valuable.

I don’t want to strategise every text. I don’t want to pretend I care less than I do.

I just want honesty, kindness, and the courtesy of a goodbye if things don’t work out.

Is that really too much to ask? Girls and boys! Please tell me what should one do?

Marriage isn't just about butterflies or date nights. It's about choosing someone who shows up in grief, in mess, in uncertainty. So no, i don't believe love and beautiful face alone is enough.
