Some people don't leave all at once. They fade away in silence, taking pieces of you with them. One day you realize you stopped expecting a message, stopped waiting for an explanation, and learned that some endings never come with closure. You just carry the weight and keep walking.

As a woman you should be more afraid of not being financially stable than of being unmarried. 💃

Stop entertaining people who only wants to communicate at night. You are not a cockroach. 🤣

Remember to always love yourself, and remember it’s just a bad moment not a bad life.

Quiet Standard.✨

When people say they don't believe in marriage anymore, they're almost never talking about love itself. What they're really talking about is the silence that comes after love breaks. I know that silence intimately. I walked through a marriage that ended in divorce, and I still carry the fear of it somewhere deep in my bones. I know what it means to lie in the same bed as someone and feel like you're on opposite sides of the world. I know the slow, quiet grief of watching yourself disappear inside a bond that was supposed to hold you, but instead left you searching for a peace that never came.
There isn't a day that goes by where I don't feel the weight of everyone waiting for me to try again. My mother asks me, out of love, out of fear for what happens to me when she's no longer here, who is going to take care of you. And I understand why she asks. But I refuse to build something as sacred as marriage out of fear or panic or the dread of being alone. I already know what it costs to hand over my peace to the wrong person. Why would I do that twice. Walking away from something that asked me to lose myself wasn't weakness. It was the moment I finally chose myself.
I've also sat with something I don't think I'll ever fully understand, which is why so many people still put their whole faith in arranged marriage as if it guarantees safety. I see families come together and say our child is harmless, our child is good, and I believe they mean it. I'm not calling them liars. But I've also seen what happens after the nikah, when someone finds out the person they married has been living a double life, clubbing, drinking, having affairs, doing everything they swore in front of everyone they would never do. And that terrifies me more than anything. Because a family's word, even a loving one, was never the same thing as truly knowing a person's heart. I'm not saying I'm without flaws either. I'm not perfect and I've never claimed to be. But what I've come to believe is that the answer isn't to throw structure away either. What I want sits somewhere in between. A way of getting to know someone that is intentional from the very first conversation, where the intention is clear from the start, where boundaries are respected the whole way through, and where character has room to actually show itself instead of being vouched for by everyone except the two people involved. I would rather wait for that than rush into either an arrangement built on a family's word alone or a connection built on nothing sacred at all.

What makes all of this heavier is how shallow connection has become outside of that too. People throw around I love you or I like you so easily now, and when I ask what that even means, the answers are hollow. You're beautiful. You're attractive. As if a face or a body was ever the same thing as love. People say they want something real, but the moment I bring up clear intentions and marriage as the goal, they go quiet. I won't shrink myself or bend my boundaries just to keep someone comfortable while they figure out what they want. My standard is simple. If you can't be honest and intentional with me, then let me go. Don't waste what little time we all have.

I'm tired of the almost, the maybe, the mixed signals dressed up as feelings. I am not a call you put on hold. I am not an option you keep open just in case nothing better comes along. I have a heart, and it deserves honesty. If the answer is no, just say it. Let me have my peace instead of my questions.

I know finding real depth and loyalty in people today isn't easy, and I know it takes time I sometimes don't feel like I have. But I've made peace with waiting. I trust that when it's meant to happen, Allah will bring someone who gives me clarity instead of confusion, and stillness instead of chaos, someone I get to know the right way, not the rushed way and not the reckless way. Until that day comes, my heart stays guarded. Not because I'm bitter, but because I fought too hard for this peace to hand it to just anyone... 🥀✨
