I wish i was a better man
I wish i had made better life choices
I wish i hadnt spent all my wishes
I wish my last wish was to be that happy ending in your story
My next wish would have been to find you again in the next life
@Its_Airin
Some stories don't return to be rewritten.
They return to remind us that not every goodbye is forever. So today, I won't ask where this road leads. No promises were made, no grand words were spoken.
Just two souls meeting once more, as if silence had finally finished saying what it needed to say.
I'll simply be grateful that our paths crossed again. 🌿

Transliteration:
Ishrat-e-qatra hai daryā mein fanā ho jānā,
Dard kā had se guzarnā hai davā ho jānā.
This is one of Ghalib's deepest philosophical couplets. It can be read on several levels: psychological, mystical (Sufi), existential, and even theological.
Literal meaning
Qatra (قطرہ) = a drop of water
Darya (دریا) = the ocean/river
Fana (فنا) = annihilation, dissolution of the individual self
Ishrat (عشرت) = joy, delight, bliss
A literal translation is:
"The greatest delight for a drop is to lose itself in the ocean.
When pain crosses every limit, it itself becomes the cure."
First line: The drop and the ocean
Imagine a raindrop.
As long as it remains separate, it fears:
evaporation,
being crushed,
disappearing.
But once it falls into the ocean...
it doesn't die.
It becomes the ocean.
This is why Ghalib calls fana (annihilation) an ishrat (joy), not a tragedy.
What disappears is not existence.
What disappears is separateness.
The Sufi interpretation:
This is classic Sufi language.
The "drop" is the ego (nafs).
The ocean is God.
The journey of the seeker is not becoming greater than others.
It is becoming nothing before Allah.
Many Sufis describe the highest spiritual station as:
"You disappear, but Reality remains."
This echoes the Qur'anic idea:
"Everything upon it will perish, and the Face of your Lord alone will remain."
For the mystic, the greatest happiness is not self-glorification.
It is self-transcendence.

Before Language Learned My Name
Before the first river remembered the sky Before mountains discovered the weight of snow Before the wind knew how to pronounce the leaves There was a silence waiting for us Not for our hands Not for our faces But for the invisible place where one lonely soul recognizes another without speaking I searched for you in places that never deserved your name In crowded rooms where laughter echoed but hearts remained empty In borrowed smiles In beautiful strangers In sunsets that promised forever and disappeared before morning I mistook echoes for voices Reflections for oceans Desire for destiny Then I realized Some people spend their entire lives looking for another person The fortunate ones spend their lives becoming someone worth finding Love was never hiding behind another pair of eyes It was patiently waiting behind the last door I was afraid to open inside myself How strange The stars never compete with one another The moon never envies the sun The ocean never apologizes for its depth Only human beings measure their worth through the mirrors held by other hands Perhaps that is why hearts grow tired Not because they carry too much love But because they carry too much hunger There comes a morning when even loneliness becomes exhausted When the soul quietly removes every mask it once wore to be chosen When applause sounds like rain falling on an abandoned house When admiration feels lighter than dust And in that unbearable stillness You finally hear the voice that was whispering long before the world taught you its noise It says You were never empty You were only crowded with everything that was never meant to stay So I no longer ask life to send me someone who completes me The moon is not completed by the sea The tree is not completed by the birds The sky does not become the sky because someone is watching it I ask only for a heart that remembers its Creator before it remembers its fears For eyes that recognize beauty without trying to possess it For love that does not imprison For loyalty that survives silence For peace that does not depend on applause And if one day our paths are written beside each other May we meet not as two people starving for affection But as two souls that have already learned how to feed themselves with truth Because the rarest love has never been the one that says I cannot live without you The rarest love whispers I met Allah before I met you That is why I know how to love you Without ever worshipping you
To my precious little daughter You may one day forget the sound of my voice or the warmth of my hands but I pray you never forget the truth hidden between these words May you always know that before you were my daughter you were a gift entrusted to me by Allah and that every beat of my heart has carried a prayer for yours If these words ever find you on a day when life feels heavy read them again and remember that your father never wished for you to become the most admired woman in the world I only prayed that you would become one of the most beloved to Allah because that is the only love that never fades.
