BEYOND THE COSMOS: THE ANGEL OF TEARS AND THE DIVINE WITNESS TO HUMAN SORROW
✦ The Unseen Realm of Perpetual Wonder ✦
Deep within the vast, luminous expanse of the heavens, residing specifically within the fourth sky ( Maa’ouna ), exists a magnificent and profoundly moving creation of the Almighty: the Angel Kisfā'īl (عليه السلام), known classically as the Angel of Tears.
As beautifully preserved in classical Quranic commentaries ( Tafaseer ), this celestial being holds a breathtaking and intimate role in the unseen realm.
He is divinely tasked with recording and preserving every single tear shed by a believer, whether weeping out of a deep fear of Allah, an intense longing for His mercy, or the quiet brokenness of sincere repentance.
Not a single droplet from your eyes falls in vain, this angel preserves the immense spiritual weight and hidden meaning behind every tear, whether born from overwhelming grief, pure devotion, or intense love for the Divine. On the Day of Judgment, these very drops will step forward to testify for those who wept in humility before their Lord.
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) beautifully confirmed this divine mercy, stating:
No drop falls from the eyes of a believer out of fear of Allah except that Allah forbids the Fire from touching it.
Let this be your ultimate comfort in the dark: your tears shed in absolute solitude, your whispered prayers when the world is asleep, an angel is meticulously recording them, and Allah is closer to you than you could ever imagine.
