I found a note you left upon the shelf,

I keep it close, I keep it to myself,
A little piece of you that’s always there.
It’s in the way the quiet rooms all feel,
It’s in the silence that we used to share,
The love we built is simple, true, and real,
A fragile heart is more than I can bear.

3. The Bridge Between Us

I’m building bridges over miles of space,
With every thought that wanders to your side,
I long to see the softness of your face,
And nowhere left for all this love to hide.
The distance is a test of what we know,

I say your name, it warms the winter chill,
A gentle touch upon a frozen heart,
The world around is standing, breathless, still,
And counting every day that we’re apart.
But soon the sun will rise and bring you near,
And all the miles will melt into the sea,

And you will finally be here with me.

6. A Dream of Us

I saw you in a dream of golden light,
We were together, walking hand in hand,
Escaping all the ghosts of lonely night,
And finding peace within a promised land.
It felt so real, the touch upon my skin,

Under the vast and open summer skies.
