Why is it so hard to find someone loyal?

The River That Never Turns Back
No river has ever turned around to reclaim the water it has already given away.
It keeps flowing.
It does not pause to count the fields it has nourished.
It does not wait for the trees to thank it.
It does not ask the flowers to remember its name.
Wherever Allah allows it to pass, life quietly follows.
How different our hearts might become if goodness flowed the same way.
So many beautiful deeds are left undone because they are tied to conditions.
We wait to be appreciated before we become generous.
We wait to be understood before we forgive.
We wait to be loved before we show kindness.
Yet creation does not bargain with the purpose Allah has given it.
The river continues its course.
The rain falls where Allah wills.
The earth receives what He sends.
Perhaps sincerity begins when goodness no longer depends on being noticed.
Perhaps the purest acts are the ones that leave our hands without asking whether anyone will remember them.
For Allah remembers what people forget.
And no act done for His sake is ever carried away without reaching the One who sees every hidden intention.

The River That Never Drinks Its Own Water
I stood beside a river today.
It kept moving.
It did not pause to admire itself.
It did not turn back to collect what it had already given away.
It simply flowed where Allah had willed it to flow.
Along its path, the thirsty drank.
The fields became green.
The trees stretched a little higher.
Life quietly appeared wherever its water reached.
Yet the river never kept any of it for itself.
I wondered how different the world would be if our hearts flowed the same way.
If our kindness did not wait for applause.
If our generosity did not depend on being noticed.
If our words brought life to others without expecting anything in return.
Perhaps that is one of the quiet lessons hidden in creation.
The things that benefit others rarely announce themselves.
The rain does not ask the earth to praise it.
The river does not count the lives it nourishes.
It simply fulfils the purpose Allah has written for it.
Maybe goodness is meant to be like that.
Given freely.
Offered sincerely.
Then left in the care of the One who sees every drop, every intention, and every act that no one else remembers.
For Allah never overlooks a good deed done for His sake, even when the world flows past it without a glance.

The Garden Within
A garden is rarely ruined in a single day.
It happens quietly.
A weed appears.
Then another.
Because they seem small, they are left alone.
Days pass.
The flowers are still there, but they are no longer what the eye notices.
The weeds have taken over.
I wonder if the heart is any different.
A bad habit is rarely loud when it first arrives.
It asks for a little space.
A little compromise.
A little delay in turning back to Allah.
Then, before we realize it, what was once only a weed has begun to steal the light from everything beautiful that was growing within us.
Patience becomes thinner.
Kindness becomes harder.
Gratitude becomes quieter.
Not because those flowers have died, but because they have been crowded by what we refused to remove.
Perhaps that is why we should never become comfortable with our sins.
The danger is not only that we commit them.
The danger is that one day they no longer trouble our hearts.
May Allah never allow our hearts to become so familiar with sin that we stop feeling the need to return to Him.
Every garden needs tending.
So does every soul.
