I've always wondered why, before the Gregorian New Year, streets and cities are decorated, and everyone—Christians and Muslims, unfortunately—prepares to welcome the new year!
Television channels, restaurants, malls—there are countless customs and traditions for welcoming the Gregorian New Year.
Why is it that we, "as a Muslim country", don't do the same for the Islamic New Year? The day passes by quite normally: a few posts on social media, maybe a small advertisement on some television channels, and that's it!
Even though the Hijra (Prophet Muhammad's migration from Mecca to Medina) is a significant event with many details, no one seems to think of ways to celebrate and honor God's commandments.
This is strange and disheartening!

Islam (Submission)
The outward level — performing the five pillars (shahada, prayer, fasting, zakat, hajj). This is the baseline of being Muslim, expressed through actions and declarations. A person at this level may believe, but their faith hasn’t necessarily penetrated the heart deeply. -
Iman (Belief)
The internal level — conviction in the heart across the six articles of faith: belief in Allah, the angels, the scriptures, the prophets, the Day of Judgment, and divine decree (qadar). Iman is deeper than Islam; it’s the sincere acceptance of these truths, not just outward practice. -
Ihsan (Excellence/Beautification)
The highest level — worshipping Allah as though you see Him, knowing that even if you don’t see Him, He sees you. This is the level of spiritual awareness and sincerity, where every action is done with full consciousness of God’s presence.

Allah had blessed us with something far greater than anything else - the Tawfeeq. Or as the west calls it now, intuition. It helps you see the truth as truth and the falsehood as falsehood. USE IT. TRUST IT. And ALWAYS, I repeat ALWAYS LISTEN TO IT. Cause what the eyes or at times the brain can't perceive, the intuition does. And Wallahi, it protects you from a lot of things.
1st Muharram 1448 Hijri 🌙
A new Islamic year begins not with fireworks, but with introspection.
The Hijri calendar starts with Hijrah, not celebration. It reminds us: real progress is leaving what displeases Allah and moving toward Him.
May Allah make this year a year of sabr like Hussain RA, wisdom like Umar RA, and barakah in our rizq, health, and families.
Let’s set 3 intentions: improve salah, control anger, serve family, humanity more. Small steps, big barakah.
