We live in an age where everyone has to eat out, spend money on uber eats every week, buy new coats and jackets and shoes and bags, rent out cars and take out loans for things they can seriously love without. To make snaps and stories of our lavish fabricated life. And then wonder why we’re living pay check to pay check. You don’t need a pay-rise, you need a behaviour change.
Stop getting cars on finance just because you like it.
Stop buying coach bags you know you can’t afford.
Put aside a consistent amount of money every month and build an emergency savings pot.
Avoid credit and debt at all costs. Credit is for the rich. Not the poor.
Learn to say no to things that’ll hurt your wallet.
Your life gets better when you’re financially stable and no longer drowning. Do you really need to buy that thing? When you seriously ask yourself this, most of the time the answer is no and you can live without it. This is how you clear debts and build for the future. Buying things and relying on credit cards is the quickest way to ruin your financial situation and have your 40 year old self struggle with the consequences of your actions today.
When you learn to live within the budget you have, clear your debts and have money you actually saved with your own hands, the sense of peace, security and calmness that comes with knowing you ain’t gonna drown at any given moment is unmatched.
