Yesterday’s shift was last before some days off …
Last patient I barely interacted with, just finalized her discharge plan from previous doctor …
Explained to her while her daughter was on the phone on loud speaker …
That she has an abnormally beating heart and needs to be on blood thinners for life and so on …
I had held her hand as I explained it all to her, when I finished,
She grabbed my hand and kissed the back of it.
