Salaam,
This question is primarily for sisters but brothers are welcome to chime in too if they have any anecdotes to share.
I have gold membership and I have not been using my compliments at all. I'm thinking maybe I start using them with purpose. I browse profiles and mostly swipe left or hit X because very few profiles stand out for me. When a profile does stand out for me, I first check their preferences to see if I meet them. And if I don't, then I move on.
Most common preference I don't match is age (I'm in my late 30s). Would it make sense to send compliments to people whose profile I took a shine to and age is the only preference that I don't meet? I did this once, my compliment was declined, and I didn't like that feeling.
My age filter is set to late 20s to mid 30s, so it's not like I'm looking for someone in their early or mid 20s.
Would appreciate insights.

Can we normalize being honest about why we’re unmatching or ending a conversation instead of just ghosting?🤨
It doesn’t make sense to match with someone, have a few good conversations, and then suddenly disappear without a word. A simple message saying you’re no longer interested or that you don’t think it’s a good match is basic courtesy.🤌
I genuinely appreciate the men who communicate before unmatching or moving on. It gives the other person closure instead of leaving them wondering what went wrong.🤷♀️
Ghosting may seem easier, but kindness and honesty go a long way. We can all do better.😑
