The Sanctuary of Sleep

The clock ticks slow, a metronome of dread,
As longing weaves its patterns round my bed.
The air is thin, a hunger in the bone,
For flesh to touch, for I am here alone.
I close my eyes and cast a desperate plea,
Across the miles, for you to come to me.
No whisper needed, no spoken, trivial word,
Just the silent cry that only love has heard.
Step through the veil, the shimmer of the dark,
And fan the embers to a glowing spark.
Come find me waiting in the deep serene,
Where all the ghosts of passion can convene.
I want to feel the ghost of your embrace,
The phantom warmth that lingers on my face.
To breathe you in, a ghost of soft perfume,
That chases out the shadows of this room.
Lay still with me, beneath the velvet sky,
And let the weary world go passing by.
I’ll hold you fast, a captive to my chest,
The only place where both our souls can rest.
Your heart, a drum that beats against my own,
A secret song that we have always known.
We’ll burn together in this hallowed space,
Beyond the reach of time and cold disgrace.
So hold me tight within your dreaming mind,
The truest love the waking world can’t find.
Let reality fade like mist upon the glass,
And watch the hours of our union pass.
In every dream, I’m reaching for your hand,
To pull you closer through the shifting sand.
And if you wake, let all the shadows fade,
Still wrapped within the memory we made.

Why do women lower the head and look at their feet when taking a standing profile pic for Nikah purposes? Im all for lowering gaze, but shouldnt we see your face?

Shy perhaps, but why take a photo.

"The Architect of Dreams*

The shadows lengthen, stretching on the wall,

I wait for darkness, for the quiet call.

The world outside is loud with hollow things,

But night provides the peace that silence brings.

I’m anchored here, by longing unexpressed,

A restless traveler seeking quiet rest.

I crave a warmth that paper sheets can't hold,

To turn this lonely silver into gold.

Come walk the halls of my subconscious mind,

Where all the treasures of the soul align.

I’ve built a room, a sanctuary deep,

Beneath the heavy canopy of sleep.

There, I am waiting, open to your touch,

A man who asks for very, very much—

Not gold or glory, not the city's light,

Just you, within the curtains of the night.

Lay down the weight of all you had to bear,

I’ll find the strands of sadness in your hair.

With gentle hands, I’ll smooth the worry line,

And let your quiet soul merge into mine.

Your chest against my own—a steady beat,

The only rhythm that makes life complete.

I want to lose the boundaries of skin,

To feel where you end, and where I begin.

In that soft space where logic fades away,

We live the life we couldn’t have by day.

No distance separates, no duty calls,

We are the masters of these dream-built walls.

Hold me in starlight, keep me in your gaze,

Lose track of time within the midnight haze.

And though the morning waits to pull us apart,

You’ll leave the echo of you in my heart.
