Hello
@Shahy6102
Honestly, I take pride in being Gen Z & I genuinely don’t understand why ppl criticize our generation when it comes to marriage !!
I actually think Gen Z men & women r becoming more intentional about choosing their life partners , We have clear standards, multiple criteria & a much better understanding that marriage is about WAY MORE than just finding someone who can afford to run a household !
We care about compatibility, emotional intelligence, communication, values, lifestyle, ambition, boundaries, attraction, financial responsibility, family dynamics & how someone handles conflict ( We ask questions, We observe behaviors , We pay attention to the little things) because we understand that those little things eventually become the BIG things when u live with someone for the rest of ur life.
Meanwhile, a lot of our parents’ & grandparents’ generation approached marriage with a much simpler checklist:
Does he have a job?
Can he afford a home?
Is she acceptable looking?
Is he a decent person?
Great ! So Get married & Figure the rest out later 🤷🏻♀️
& that’s exactly where the problem often starts.
Compatibility gets overlooked , Emotional needs get dismissed , Personality differences get minimized , Controlling behavior gets normalized , Lack of communication becomes ( that’s just how men are ) Emotional neglect becomes (marriage takes sacrifice) & ppl spend years trying to survive relationships they never should have entered in the first place.
Of course, there were successful, loving marriages in previous generations & there r shallow, unrealistic people in ours.
Gen Z isn’t perfect & having a long list of standards doesn’t automatically make someone mature.
But at least we’re questioning things that previous generations were often taught to accept without questioning.
We’re learning that having a job doesn’t automatically make someone a good husband. Being beautiful doesn’t automatically make someone a good wife.
Providing financially doesn’t excuse emotional immaturity & being a good person on paper doesn’t necessarily mean you’re compatible with someone.
Marriage isn't just about finding someone who can keep a roof over your head but It's about finding someone whose presence makes that home a place you actually WANT to live in.
& personally, I'd rather be single while looking for someone who genuinely fits my life than spend decades trying to convince myself that the bare minimum is enough.
Gen Z isn't necessarily asking for too much. We're just less willing to accept a lifetime commitment based on a checklist that ignores the actual human being we're marrying

Warm Greetings from Istanbul to the Arab World… 🌿
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.
Dear brothers and sisters,
Although we may come from different countries and cultures, we share a beautiful heritage of faith, knowledge, and civilization.
I have a deep appreciation for the Arabic language, the language of the Holy Qur'an, and its remarkable legacy of literature, philosophy, and scholarship.
I believe that meaningful conversations and the exchange of knowledge build some of the most beautiful bridges between people.
I would be delighted to learn more about your culture, intellectual traditions, and literary heritage.
May I ask: Which Arab scholar, thinker, poet, or book has had the greatest influence on your life?
With warm greetings and sincere respect from Istanbul… 🌷
