One of the most comprehensive sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) about marriage is:
"When someone whose religion and character you are pleased with comes to you (seeking marriage), then marry him. If you do not, there will be tribulation and widespread corruption on earth."
— Jami' at-Tirmidhi
Explanation
This hadith teaches that the two most important qualities to look for in a spouse are:
Religion (Deen): A person who sincerely fears Allah, fulfills their religious obligations, and strives to live according to Islamic teachings. Such a person is more likely to treat their spouse with justice, mercy, and honesty.
Character (Akhlaq): Good manners, kindness, patience, truthfulness, humility, and respect. A person's character determines how they behave during everyday life and especially during disagreements.
The Prophet (ﷺ) did not say to prioritize wealth, beauty, social status, ethnicity, or nationality over these qualities. Those things can be considered, but they should not outweigh religion and character.
The warning at the end of the hadith—"there will be tribulation and widespread corruption on earth"—means that if people reject suitable spouses for superficial reasons alone, it can lead to delayed marriages, unnecessary hardship, family disputes, and moral problems in society.
Practical lesson today
When evaluating someone for marriage, ask questions such as:
Are they honest and trustworthy?
Do they fulfill their obligations to Allah?
Do they treat family members and other people with kindness?
Can they communicate respectfully and resolve conflicts maturely?
A marriage built on faith and good character has a much stronger foundation than one built only on appearance, wealth, or status. This hadith encourages Muslims to make those two qualities their highest priorities when choosing a spouse

It's Sunnah to fast on Monday & Thursday.
If you are unable to fast, remind others to earn a reward.
May Allah make it easy for us.

If someone's helping you get married and they ask you to post your photographs on social media so men can see you or so that the potential men can see who you are when they search you up, remove them from your rishta hunting process.
No Muslimah should be asked to post her photographs online even in hijaab when she doesn't want to.
You will filter out a lot of creeps when you don't do this.
A solid Muslim brother will respect you for having no photographs online instead of hunting you on socials and selecting you on the basis of photographs you have posted.
Either I am getting old and cranky or this duniya is becoming really ajeeb.
I am really old school. Want to see a sister for marriage visit her home with your family.
Because once you share a photograph on whatsapp or via an email you don't know how many people are going to see it and where it's going to end up.
Or have some trustworthy middle person who has your photograph and can show it to the guy and his family without forwarding it to them.
Many Muslim families don't care about you and forward your photograph to anyone and everyone.
Even Muslim men do this.
They forward it to their friends.
It's a scary world.
Posting pics online for the world to see so you can bag a proposal?! HAYYLLLL NOOOO.
Never compromise deen, modesty and your standards to get married.
