Something a bit different. Let’s go back to 2020.
When Covid lockdowns hit, so many industries and people were affected because they simply couldn’t operate. Hospitality as a sector disintegrated. The performing arts and all the peripheral and associated businesses, from security gigs to theatre staff to cleaners used by venues had nowhere to go.
This video shows how the dancers of l’Opera National de Paris, elite athletes (because ballet is bloody hard!) coped during that time. The company put it together as a thank you to the health industry but also to remind the public they, too, needed support. I hope you enjoy.
[<Blockquote> “In this time of standstill of performances at the Paris National Opera, members from the three artistic bodies of the institution, the Orchestra, the Choirs and the Ballet wanted to thank in their own way all those who are now on the front line in the fight against the pandemic. These spontaneous initiatives are the result of their desire to express their deep gratitude and support to all those who work with dedication and courage to protect us.”<End Blockquote>]
