The Ordinary Day
One day, we will miss a day like this.
Not a day filled with celebrations. Not a day that changed our lives. Not a day we would think to photograph and keep.
Just this.
The morning arriving without an announcement. The familiar faces. The small inconveniences. The meal we almost complained about. The work we wished we did not have to do. The prayer we were grateful to still be able to pray.
An ordinary day.
We spend so much of life waiting for something extraordinary to happen that we forget how extraordinary it is to simply be here.
To wake up and still have time to repent. To open our eyes and still have another opportunity to say Alhamdulillah. To hear the voice of someone we love. To walk outside beneath a sky Allah has painted for us to witness. To return home at the end of the day.
Nothing spectacular happened.
And that is the blessing.
Because there will come a day when an ordinary morning will be something we would give anything to have again.
The alarm we once hated. The work we once complained about. The people we sometimes took for granted. The little problems we thought were ruining our day.
We may one day look back and realize they were pieces of a life we did not know we were supposed to treasure.
So today, before asking Allah for a better day,
look at the one already in your hands.
It may not be extraordinary.
But it is alive.
And that alone is a mercy worth noticing.

Never stop being a good person just because people weren’t good to you

Keep being kind, keep caring, even if sometimes it feels like you’re the only one doing it. The right people will appreciate the way u are you’ll find ur people eventually 🤍

The open road is calling.
The petrol tank is full.
That throaty rumble says it all -
Emanating from the hood.

Turn left? Turn right? Go straight ahead?
Who cares? Pick one, let’s go!
A couple hours to lose myself
And recharge. Then I’m good.
