You can be grateful for what you have today without knowing what tomorrow will bring. 🤍

To My Mom 🤍

If I could gather every kindness you’ve ever given me,

I think I could spend a lifetime unfolding it

and still find pieces I had forgotten to thank you for.

You have loved me in ways I didn’t always understand,

in moments I was too young to recognize,

and in moments when I was too caught up in myself

to see what your heart was quietly carrying.

I wish I could return to some of those moments,

not to change who I was,

but to sit beside the woman you were

and understand you a little better.

I’m sorry for the times I made your heart heavy,

for the words I cannot take back,

and for the love I may have left unspoken

because I thought there would always be another day.

Sometimes I think about how strange it is

that we can live beside someone’s love for so long

and only begin to understand its depth

when we imagine a world without their voice in it.

I don’t want to wait until silence takes the place of our conversations

to realize how much I still wanted to tell you.

I don’t want ordinary days with you

to become the memories I would give anything to revisit.

You deserve a love that finds its way back to you,

a gentleness that asks nothing of you,

and a happiness that doesn’t have to be earned

through everything you have endured for others.

If I could ask Allah for something on your behalf,

it would be that the years ahead are kinder to you,

that your heart finds rest in places it once knew worry,

and that you get to experience the same goodness

you have spent so much of your life giving away.

And if my words have ever fallen short,

I hope my love has still found its way to you,

somehow,

even when I didn’t know how to express it.

Allah knows the parts of my heart

that I have never managed to put into words.

He knows how grateful I am that He chose you to be my mother,

and how deeply I wish for you to know His mercy,

His nearness,

and the peace that comes from being held in His care.

I pray He guides you toward everything that brings you closer to Him,

protects you in the moments I cannot be there,

eases what you carry in silence,

and grants you a place in Jannah

where no heart aches,

no goodbyes remain,

and every love we feared losing

is finally free from the fear of loss.

Until then,

I hope I remember to say what matters while I still can.

I hope I become softer where I have been careless,

more patient where I have been proud,

and more present with the people

Allah has placed in my life as a mercy.

Because one day,

all we will have of certain moments

is that they happened.

And I want to have been there for them.

I love you, Mom.

More than I have always known how to show,

and more than these words will ever be able to hold.

May Allah protect you, guide you, forgive you,

and reunite us in the most beautiful part of His creation.

Ameen.

𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐤𝐲 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐬

When the white soft cotton drifts in a mellow mood,
Its silky whiteness turns to shades of grey.
The sky can no longer hold its sorrow,
And its tears begin to fall.
With every drop,
It releases the weight it has carried from so long.

The scent of the earth rises to greet the rain,
As abundant water showers the waiting ground.
The drops wash the dust from the streets,
And cleans the cars without asking for reward.
The street lamps glow a little brighter,
Against the curtain of silver rain.

The drizzle softly caresses the skin,
It’s cool touch lingering as it falls.
Small children dance beneath the shower,
Laughing as puddles splash around their feet.
A couple exchange quiet smiles,
Unafraid of the rain that washed over them.
An old lady walks joyfully beneath her transparent umbrella,
Her measured steps untroubled by the weather.
A cheerful man hurries along,
A folded newspaper resting above his head.

The thirsty plants drink deeply,
Their leaves are glistening with renewed life.
The branches sway and wave,
Freed from the dust they once carried.
A dog watches the falling drops with eager curiosity,
Woofing with excitement, dancing with the drizzle.
And the birds shake their glistening feathers,
Chirping as though sing, celebrating the freshly washed world.
While squirrel peek from it shelter,
As though quietly admiring the scene.

Like the moon you remind me. The beauty of its existence you assume. The beauty of a light in a dark sky.

The wish with a tear ready. To be a guide for me in the night and day I wish you to be. With a light so blinding I wish not see the stars. But as the sun takes you away from me, I wish not live by liar of a light.

Wandering through the world with the thought of you, whoever may it be, lest it be a puddle I wish not see.
