I started a windowsill herb garden. The basil is growing beautifully but the mint is growing in every direction! Do I need a bigger pot?

Abeez Dalvi on Instagram: "Welcome to Day 1 of my 30 Days of Permaculture series! Most of us were taught that gardening means endless tilling, pulling weeds, and spraying chemicals. But permaculture flips that entirely. By designing smart, self-sustaining ecosystems, we let nature do the heavy lifting. Over the next 30 days, I’m breaking down exactly how you can turn ANY space...from a tiny apartment balcony to a sprawling backyard into a low-maintenance, high-yield food forest. Make sure to SAVE this post so you don’t lose the series, and hit FOLLOW so you don’t miss Day 2 tomorrow! 👇 #permaculture #permaculturedesign #gardeningtips #sustainableliving #foodforest"

Everyone likes to prune their tomato plants. I just let mine grow and let nature take its course. Now they've literally taken over my mum's garden, and the cats have their own little shaded pathways underneath where they love to sleep. 🍅🌿🐈

Salam yall.

I just learned something from planting flowers especially bulbs like dahlias. Dahlias grow tall in talking like more than 1 ft. There’s a process called pinching where you LITERALLY pinch off a part of the plant before it even flowers. I did this around a week ago and what this does is that instead of one flower coming from the stem a few will come out.

Now since a few will come out they do advise you to cut at the second node of the plant. I cut it where it shows a thick line, now the flowers have 2 or 3 flower buds growing from the stem. I have also posted a picture of what it looks like after I have done so, this is a week or so later. You could cut them from either place I marked or lower, because dahlias do grow to be very tall! If you are satisfied with a tall dahlia make sure to buy stakes and place them near your dahlias early on so they don’t grow slanted.

This is if you want more flower buds. Please make sure this works on other flowers and plants you are planting 🙏. Hope this tip helps those of yall who are planting flowers! And if you’re thinking about it this is your sign to do so!!

I carefully removed this evergreen tree, roots and all, and gave it a new home 🏡. The cat made sure I did it right 😸
