Being a single parent. Being a woman, above all
It means dealing every single day with an amount of responsibility that often feels like a heavy boulder. It means coping with everything on your own: bills, managing the household, raising your children, last-minute unexpected events, and the physical and mental exhaustion that piles up in silence. It means being a safe harbor, an unshakable rock for someone else, even when deep down inside you just want to stop, breathe, and lean on someone yourself.
Yet, in the middle of this ocean of struggles, there is an even greater test: the temptation to hold onto anyone just to avoid feeling the weight of emptiness. But this is precisely where dignity comes into play.
For us, striving to live our lives guided by the principles of Islam, patience (sabr) is not a weakness; it is immense strength. Allah sees our struggles, He sees the sleepless nights and the silent tears. And because of this, He teaches us not to settle for crumbs, not to manipulate situations, and not to choose " the first person who comes along " just to find an emotional or material shortcut.
Choosing carefully is not a whim; it is a duty towards oneself and one's children. It means remembering that our hearts deserve respect, that our companionship should enrich us spiritually and morally, and that we must never lower our standards out of a fear of loneliness .
It isn't easy. In fact, it is a very steep climb. But temporary loneliness, faced with awareness and the protection of Tawakkul (complete trust in Allah), is infinitely less frightening than a wrong bond that extinguishes the light within us.
In shaa' Allah, every step taken with integrity will find its reward .
