A Genuine Question... 🌿
Lately, I've been thinking about something.
Have private meetups before marriage become a necessity? Is it really impossible to choose a life partner without meeting alone?
Can one or two meetups truly reveal someone's character, values, honesty, patience, emotional maturity, and the way they'll handle marriage?
For generations, many beautiful marriages began through family involvement, where people didn't spend time alone before marriage. So why is it now often seen as a red flag if someone prefers to avoid private meetups?
I've also noticed that some people lose interest the moment you say you're not comfortable with meeting privately or discussing physical intimacy before marriage.
That makes me wonder...
Are we searching for a life partner, or are we trying to build trust through physical closeness first?
Personally, I believe trust is built through honesty, consistency, family values, respectful communication, and good character—not just by spending time alone together.
For me, a spouse is someone whose deen, character, respect, intentions, and heart matter more than a few meetings. The emotional connection, romance, and everything else can naturally grow after a halal commitment.
This isn't about judging anyone's choices. Everyone has their own preferences, and I respect that.
I'm simply curious...
Can two people build a successful marriage based on trust, family involvement, sincere intentions, and strong values without private dating or unnecessary meetups?
I'd genuinely love to hear your thoughts and different perspectives. 🌸🤍
