The Day of Arafah is one of the most sacred days in Islam. It falls on the 9th day of Dhul Hijjah, the day before Eid al-Adha. It is especially important for pilgrims performing Hajj at Mount Arafat, but it is also a blessed day for Muslims around the world.

Importance of the Day of Arafah

  1. The Best Day of the Year

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that there is no day on which Allah frees more people from the Fire than the Day of Arafah. It is a day of mercy, forgiveness, and answered prayers.

  1. Completion of Islam

On this day, Allah revealed the verse:

“Today I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favor upon you, and chosen Islam as your religion.”
(Qur’an 5:3)

This shows the عظمت (greatness) of the day.

  1. Fasting on the Day of Arafah

For those not performing Hajj, fasting on this day is highly recommended.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Fasting on the Day of Arafah expiates the sins of the previous year and the coming year.”

This means Allah forgives minor sins for two years through sincere fasting.

  1. Day of Powerful Du’a

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“The best supplication is the supplication on the Day of Arafah.”

It is a special time to:

Ask Allah for forgiveness
Make du’a for yourself, family, and the Ummah
Repent sincerely
Increase dhikr (remembrance of Allah)

  1. Central Pillar of Hajj

For pilgrims, standing at Arafah (Wuquf) is the most essential part of Hajj. The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Hajj is Arafah.”

Meaning without being present at Arafah during the prescribed time, Hajj is incomplete.

Recommended Acts on the Day of Arafah

Fast (for non-pilgrims)
Make abundant du’a
Recite Qur’an
Say dhikr such as:
La ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lah…
SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar
Seek forgiveness sincerely
Give charity if possible

May Allah accept your worship and grant you the blessings of the Day of Arafah.

Marry a man who is emotionally intelligent. A man who fixes the issue instead of acting nonchalantly. A man who knows how to communicate so you're able to freely express your feelings. A man who shows the same level of respect during disagreements. A man who holds a safe space for you.💖💫
