Lately, I’ve been seeing quite a few posts where boys are announcing things like, “Let’s meet for marriage purposes,” inviting both boys and girls to meet up, and then specifically mentioning, *“Especially girls, please do come.”🚩.
My sincere advice to my sisters is: please don’t go. Even if they say it’s going to be in a public place, you still don’t know the person or their intentions behind the invitation. Your safety and dignity are far more important than any potential marriage proposal 🙏🏻.
And if you still feel that you genuinely need to meet someone for marriage purposes, please do not go alone. Have a mahram or a trusted family member with you. Personally, I would still advise you to avoid unofficial meetups altogether unless the platform itself has an official and properly supervised process for such meetings. Even then, please do not go alone 🙅🏻♀️.
Given the kind of incidents we’ve already seen, I genuinely feel we need to be much more careful. Please don’t assume that someone is trustworthy simply because you know them through an online platform. What happens online and what happens in real life can be very different ⚠️.
And this advice isn’t only for girls. Brothers, please be careful too. Don’t attend unofficial meetups simply because someone online invites you. You also have no idea who might be behind the invitation or what their actual intentions are. Protect yourselves as well ✌🏻.
I also have a sincere request for @shaz Sir and the platform management: please take appropriate action against people who publicly announce unofficial meetups for marriage purposes, especially when they are directly inviting girls to attend. There should be clear rules against this so that everyone can use this platform without feeling unsafe or pressured 🙏🏻.
Marriage is serious, and finding a spouse should involve families, proper boundaries, and safety not random meetups arranged by strangers online. May Allah protect all of us from people with bad intentions and guide us towards what is safe, halal, and good for us. Ameen 🤲🏻.
And one more humble request: whenever you come across unofficial meetup posts, please report them to the Jamaa team immediately so they can take appropriate action and help keep this platform safe for everyone. Thank you 👍🏻.
