I've worked closely with a lot of brands under the Birla banner. Here's something you should know about running a business in India.
Before starting anything online know that just selling isn't the goal. Avoiding returns is - ~30% of orders on Myntra we're returned. Select a category that is size agnostic. A shirt has a higher chances of coming back as return because the size did not fit.
Look for everyday boring items. Carpets, mats, coasters, towels, etc. these are size agnostic items. These are easy starters, packaging, warehousing, and delivery costs are lower.
If you're into retail manufacturing, scaling your business to cover costs should be your goal. But you'll always need to fly under Amazon's radar. Amazon monitors what product sells quickly, they will eventually start their own version of the said product, sell it at lower costs and push you out of business. Then jack up the prices.
In short, whatever you think of doing, think about competing with the e-commerce giants, scale and cost sustainability. Also always be Bismillah insured :)
