Middle East Eye on Instagram: ""He hates Muslims but he's in a Muslim country." Far-right figure Tommy Robinson was called out on camera in Dubai while attempting to give an interview to IFL TV ahead of a Misfits Boxing event. During the exchange, boxer Ty Mitchell questioned Robinson over his long record of targeting Muslims and asked why he rarely focuses on crimes committed by white offenders. Mitchell also raised the contradiction of Robinson being in a Muslim country despite his anti-Muslim rhetoric. The discussion became heated and the interview was cut short, with footage of the confrontation later circulating widely online. Tommy Robinson, who changed his real name from Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon, is known for his anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim rhetoric. He co-founded the English Defence League, a far-right, anti-immigrant organisation, in 2009 and led it until 2013. He has also been involved with other far-right groups, including the British National Party and Pegida UK. Critics have long said Robinson receives funding and support from zionist and pro-Israel entities, and has posed with an IDF shirt."

Fitrah and Love in Islam
In Islam, fitrah refers to the natural disposition Allah has placed within every human being. It is the original state of purity, truth-seeking, and inclination toward what is good.
From an Islamic perspective, the idea that fitrah is connected to love is rooted in how humans are created and what they are created for.
At its core, fitrah is not just “being good” or “being kind”—it is the inner awareness that a person is dependent on and drawn toward their Creator. In Islamic thought, the deepest form of love begins with love of Allah, because He is the source of life, mercy, and meaning.
So love in fitrah is first:
Love of Allah
Love of truth and guidance
Love of purity and goodness
Islam teaches that Allah placed mercy (rahmah) and emotional bonds in human nature. This is why people naturally love:
Parents and children
Spouses
Family and community
Those who show kindness
These forms of love are not accidental—they are part of how human life is meant to function.
In fitrah, the heart is naturally inclined toward what is beneficial and sincere. This is why people often feel drawn to:
Honesty
Compassion
Justice
Beauty in character
When the heart is not heavily corrupted or distorted, it tends to recognise and love these qualities.
Islamic teaching holds that fitrah can become clouded by environment, trauma, sin, or unhealthy influences, but it is not completely destroyed. That is why people can sometimes feel inner conflict—they still sense truth or goodness even if they move away from it.
In this view, love is healthiest when it:
Leads a person closer to Allah
Strengthens mercy, respect, and responsibility
Is not based on harm, obsession, or injustice
So love is not just an emotion in Islam—it is something that should align with the natural moral and spiritual structure a person was created with.

Anonymous rant 😅
Does anyone else find it frustrating when you match with supposedly "practising" men and the conversation somehow keeps circling back to intimacy?
I completely understand that physical compatibility is important in a marriage. I'm not denying that at all. But if I've already answered the question and set clear boundaries, why does it need to be brought up repeatedly?
Some seem determined to keep pushing the conversation in that direction, and when you firmly redirect it, suddenly you're made to feel like intimacy must not matter to you at all.
Apparently, if you don't want to discuss it for the tenth time within the first few conversations, that means your future married life will be boring. 🙃
And can we also talk about the men who tell you they're falling in love with you, are ready to marry you, and are convinced you're the one... after a one-hour conversation? 😂
I'm all for serious intentions, but surely there's a middle ground between "What's your favourite colour?" and "I've planned our future together."
You genuinely can't win sometimes.
