To my beautiful Nani who departed this world earlier today.

Inna Iillahi wa inna ilahi rajioon.

Feels surreal.

All I want is one last conversation.. 😞

May Allah swt grant her the highest rank in Jannat ul Firdaus and reunite me with amaji and baba ji one day in the best of abodes. Ameen sum Ameen 🥺🕊️🤲🏼

I don’t think it’s really cool to ask a lady when are you getting married.

Healthy, Quranic Mindset in the Search

A healthy, Quranic approach means shifting your search from a consumerist "wish list" to a focus on spiritual growth, looking for a partner who can help you achieve Jannah (Paradise), a higher mindset

The Quran describes spouses as "garments for one another," which means your primary goal should be finding someone who provides mutual protection, comfort, and concealment of faults, rather than a superficial trophy. By anchoring your search in trust in Allah (tawakkul), you stop panicking about modern timelines or societal pressures and begin to value a peaceful, simple connection over an idealized, worldly perfection.

Breaking the Loop & Healing the Nafs

To break out of this cycle, a person must actively engage in tazkiyah (purification of the soul) to shift from the lower self to nafs al-lawwamah—the self-aware soul that resists base desires and feels healthy remorse.

This means unplugging from digital spaces, like dating apps, that treat human beings as disposable commodities and feed the ego’s desire for infinite options. Healing the nafs requires moving away from instant gratification through consistent prayer, fasting, and deep self-reflection, forcing you to look inward and fix your own spiritual flaws before expecting a flawless partner.

Why people are window shopping for a partner and why u can’t find a marriage partner in 2026

From an Islamic perspective, finding a spouse today is so hard because too many people are trapped in their nafs al-ammarah—the lowest part of the ego that constantly chases superficial desires, lust, and material status. The modern world keeps people stuck in a loop of swiping and searching because it treats relationships like retail shopping, where everyone is disposable and the next best option is always a click away. When we lose our taqwa (God-consciousness) and stop doing tazkiyah (inner purification), we bring our unhealed, selfish lower selves to the table, expecting perfection from someone else while offering none ourselves. True Islamic love requires sacrifice, mercy, and looking at a person's character (khuluq), but this cycle of instant gratification makes it almost impossible to build that sacred, lasting connection.

It’s not about who gives you flowers… but who makes your soul bloom again. 🤍
