It is a CRIMINAL OFFENCE in the UK to carry out, offer to carry out, or aid and abet “virginity testing”, and the law also applies to UK nationals and habitual residents who commit these offences abroad.
The position of the World Health Organization and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) is that virginity tests have no scientific merit or clinical indication as there is no known examination that can prove a woman has not had vaginal intercourse.
