The Lottery | Lotto

This money is not lawful in Islaam, nor does it enter into his ownership, because this is a form of gambling. This is Haraam money. Even a penny of it is not permissible.

A person buys a ticket containing numbers, then a draw is conducted. If the numbers he chose on his ticket match the numbers produced by the machine used for the draw, he wins money. Otherwise, he loses the money he paid for the ticket.

This is an enormous sin (كبيرة):

  • -Allaah warned against it in the Qur'aan and called it الميسر and referred to it as عمل الشيطان the work of the devil.
  • -The Prophet also warned against it.
  • -One wastes their money and hopes for a return based purely on chance, without skill. Playing games of chance for money is called gambling.
  • -The one who plays these games is called خبيث in Arabic, meaning major sinner. Such a person is not trusted in our religion.
  • -Sins have consequences. Some sins ruin a person's family life. They distance people's parents, siblings, children and grandchildren from them. Sometimes their health deteriorates because of the effects of this sin.
  • -This money is not inherited. If one does receive some of this haraam money, they must give it to a trusted Islamic organisation that deals with it in the proper way.
  • -One cannot pay off debts with this money. Even if the people they owe money to are non-Muslims or non-Muslim banks. This is because money does not belong to the one who 'won' it.
  • -Every piece of flesh that grows after having been nourished by Haraam, the fire is more worthy of it.

Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you. I am a young Arab man who wants to travel to England as a student. How can I get a student visa, travel on a scholarship, or travel for work? I want to travel to England and I need help. Thank you.

Eventually she deposited $1,000, followed by additional money. She reported losing $2,000 in total. The BBB classified the incident as a romance scam combined with an investment scam.

Today I was actually moved by a brother in my local community. This bro I’ve seen for many years smiling always approaching people asking them about their welfare etc. I had bumped into him in the cemetery at Forest Gate IYKYK and had presumed he had come to see a loved one. I embraced the brother and asked who is it that’s buried here just for small talk. When he mentioned his parents it made me choke up. I asked since when and he said since he was 18! Bear in mind this guy is now in his mid 30s. It makes us realise the stuff we should be grateful for if you have parents cherish them. If you are going through hardship make call out to Allah and approach your day with optimism. Also sisters this brothers on the market anyone looking will definitely be lucky to have him. I pray he gets the best in this dunya and akhirah.

You left it too late! If you’re 30+ as a woman, you don’t stand a chance. The truth hurts. Sorry x
